Can I stay up later?

Winter break is here! At some point (if it hasn’t happened yet) your kids will ask if they can stay up later. They’ll give compelling reasons. They don’t have school, their cousins are visiting, they aren’t sleepy, A Charlie Brown Christmas is on…These are all seemingly good reasons, BUT stick to your regular schedule as much as possible. Sleep is a highly active time for brain development and brain function. Sleep quantity and quality play a major role in what and how well we process and remember information. Our kids need sleep!
